Comento ("we", "us", "our") is an async watch-party app where users create rooms, leave time-based comments, and invite friends. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

• Account data: name, email address, profile photo (if provided by your sign-in provider), and user ID.
• Room and content data: room names, subtitles, sync moments, video links, messages, reactions, timestamps, and room membership.
• Technical and usage data: device/browser details, app usage events, and analytics data.
• Notification settings and email preferences, including unsubscribe choices.

3. How We Use Information

• Provide and operate Comento features.
• Sync comments to event timelines.
• Send account, activity, and product emails (subject to your settings).
• Improve performance, reliability, and product experience.
• Detect abuse, fraud, and policy violations.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share data with service providers that help us run Comento, such as hosting, authentication, analytics, and email delivery providers.

Room content is visible to room members. If room visibility rules are changed in product features, access follows those settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Comento integrates with third-party services such as Google Sign-In, Firebase/Google Cloud services, YouTube links/features, and email providers. Those services process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and room data while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to support operations, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security.

7. Your Choices

• Update profile details through your account provider.
• Manage notification preferences in-app.
• Leave rooms or request account/data deletion by contacting us.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Comento is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version with a revised effective date.
